Genmaicha is a Japanese tea specialty made from green tea leaves and roasted rice. Usually this type of tea is made from Bancha leaves. Those are leaves from late harvest, 4th and 5th leaf from the top. These leaves contain less caffeine than Sencha. Genmaicha is savory and refreshing, no matter hot or cold, and is often served with a meal. We also have Genmaicha made with Sencha leaves and with a touch of Matcha.
